What RP is for
Riot Points are League's paid currency. They buy champion skins, chromas and skin bundles, event passes, hextech chests and keys, and the odd convenience purchase like a name change or a rune page slot. Champions themselves can be bought with RP or earned with Blue Essence, so most spending goes to cosmetics rather than gameplay.
The two purchases that matter to most players are event passes and skins. Passes are time-limited and return event currency as you play them; skins are permanent. If a skin you want is discounted during an event, that discount window is usually the moment to top up.

Region matters — and Riot has several nearby
Riot gift cards are issued per region and League accounts belong to the region they were created on. Algerian players are usually on EU West or EU Nordic & East, and increasingly on the MENA servers, which shortened ping considerably for North Africa when they opened.
Buy the card that matches the region your account is on today. Riot does offer paid account transfers between some regions, but that is a separate operation from a top-up — do not buy a mismatched card expecting to transfer later. Every product on this page names its region in the title.
Redeeming and where RP shows up
Redeem the code on your Riot account page under Redeem Codes, or in the League client store. The RP is added to your account immediately and appears in the top-right of the store screen.
Codes are single-use and lock to the first account that redeems them. If a code is a gift, pass it on unredeemed — once it is on an account, it stays there.
Paying from Algeria without a foreign card
Riot's checkout expects a card enabled for international payments. Most Algerian debit cards are domestic-only, so the purchase fails at the payment step — and repeated attempts do the account's payment history no favours.
Buying a prepaid Riot card here removes that step. Payment happens locally in dinars through CIB or Edahabia, and Riot only ever sees a valid code being redeemed on your account.
